Understanding mold
There are many types of mold – all of them need water or moisture to grow, and they can be found almost anywhere; they can grow on virtually any substance. When excessive moisture accumulates in buildings or on building materials, mold growth often occurs, particularly if the moisture problem remains unaddressed. If mold particles come in contact with a wet surface, they will generally settle in and begin to grow within 24 hours. Health risks associated with indoor mold growth are especially harmful to children, older adults, and those with pre-existing respiratory illnesses. Dry surfaces are key to controlling mold growth. We are here to Dry it On Time before it affects your loved ones.Basic mold remediation steps
1.
Mold AssessmentThe first stage in mold remediation services is mold assessment. Here, Dry On Time will visit the premises to inspect for mold.
2.
SamplingIn most cases, if visible mold growth is present, sampling is unnecessary. However, if residents are experiencing health problems such as breathing difficulties, sampling may be necessary to identify the particular type of mold.
3.
ContainmentMold spores move in the air and can settle on uncontaminated surfaces while they are being removed. As a result, expert mold remediation involves the isolation of contaminated areas before cleaning or removal.
4.
DisposalBefore Dry On Time continues with the drying and cleaning of your belongings, they will first dispose of beyond repair items. This will likely be necessary for any items such as mattresses, pillows, or drywall that may have absorbed the mold and contaminated water. The type of material on which the mold grows will determine if disposal is required.
5.
Drying and air filtrationOnce the moisture source is controlled, it is then necessary for the mold remediation crew to carefully dry the area. Dry On Time may need to use a heavy-duty approach such as wet and dry vacuuming, negative air machine, etc. Additionally, to make sure we capture all airborne mold spores because of the disturbance, we will use a HEPA vacuum and an Air Scrubber. They should be used before, during, and after the remediation process.
6.
SanitizationRemoval of mold-infested materials is often followed by thorough cleaning of all items affected, such as carpets, area rugs, furniture, curtains, floors, walls, etc. This will also include anti-microbial spray and elimination of odors with the use of fogging equipment.
7.
Clearance testingAt the end of the mold remediation project, the client will have the option of getting a clearance test done to confirm that the indoor levels of mold are back to an acceptable range. Dry On Time does not offer its own testing because it is considered a conflict of interest. We guarantee our job and will redo the remediation in case of a positive test.
8.
